IT'S OFFICIALLY that time of the year where everyone has started thinking about Christmas shopping for loved ones.

In the digital age we now live in, most shopping can be done from the comfort of our own homes with next day deliveries and apps arguably the preferred method of ‘getting Christmas sorted’.

There are many who will no doubt prefer the old school method of taking a trip to the high street to visit the shops and get that festive experience first-hand.

With this in mind, we asked Leader readers to tell us what high street shops they miss the most ahead of Christmas this year.

Unsurprisingly, there was an overwhelming yearning for some old favourites:

Norma Shaw wrote: "Debenhams."

Pauline Evans added: “Q.D. I loved that shop. Also, the people who worked there were all lovely and helpful.”

Kathryn Taylor wrote: “Definitely Woolworths – best shop ever.”

Tasha Griffiths posted: “Toys R Us!”

Christine Davies said: “Debenhams and NEXT Home.”

Hayley Byrne added: “Woolies.”

Tracy Louisa, Sue Morris, and Gwyneth Jones all agreed: “Debenhams!!”

Sandra Rogers wrote: “BHS and Debenhams.”

Rose Edwards said: “Woolworths – nothing compares to it.”

AG Linzi wrote: “Woolworths, TJ Hughes, HMV.”
