A FUNDRAISER for a 13-year-old Deeside boy after his devastating cancer diagnoses has raised thousands in its first couple of days.
After being "very poorly" for the last couple of weeks, Evan Gaine, from Connah’s Quay, was taken into Countess of Chester Hospital’s A&E with a non-blanching rash.
After undergoing a range of tests, Evan and his family were given the shock news that he has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) - a rare form of aggressive leukemia.
Following the tragic news, Evan, a pupil at Connah's Quay High School, was instantly transferred to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and remains there to undergo an intense course of chemotherapy treatment over the next six months.

Evan's mum, Ria Ellis, said: "I just can’t believe it’s happening.
"His treatment is going to be very intense and hard but we will get through it. He is being very brave and I couldn’t be more proud of him.
"I think we are going to be in hospital for at least 10 weeks now then a short break at home and back here again.
"Thanks for all the messages of support - we do appreciate them."
Ria also has two daughters, Ashleigh (21) and Summer (11). Ashleigh has been staying at home to care for her little sister Summer while Evan and Ria are at hospital.
Family friends Jayde Alicia Dwyer and Rebecca Morris-Levy are fundraising for Ria and Evan to help with travel expenses to and from the hospital and bills, as Ria has had to quit both of her jobs to care for her son.

Jayde said: “Ria has had to put all of her time, effort and energy into Evan and looking after him, so we want to help her pay for her bills and getting to Alder Hey.
“We want to give them some support during this time.
"Ria is so hard-working and dedicated and with it being so close to Christmas we want to help.”
