SEVEN sheep were killed and scores more were injured in a "devastating" dog attack in Flintshire.
North Wales Police's Rural Crime team has said the incident occurred some time between Sunday night and the early hours of Monday in a field on Padeswood Road in Buckley.
PCSO Iwan Jones, of the Rural Crime Team, said: "To date there were seven Welsh mountain ewes killed and some 25 injured. I expect there to be far more fatalities before the day is out.
"Such was the devastation I can only imagine that more than one dog was involved and they would have been attacking the sheep for a considerable period of time. The dogs would have been filthy and covered in blood."
He added: "If you have any information which could be of help, then please get in touch."

Another officer from the Rural Crime Team posted a video on the team's Facebook page discussing the incident.
He described it as a "scene of absolute devastation".
"We get quite hardened to this type of thing on the Rural Crime Team, but today I feel pig sick," he said.
"From looking at them (the injured sheep) I expect the number of dead to at least triple. It's an absolute mess. The farmer's absolutely devastated."
