A MAN has been jailed for 19 years after being found guilty of subjecting a child to years of sexual abuse.
Jason Clixby, of Bran in Plas Madoc, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Monday for sentence.
The 52-year-old had denied and been found guilty after trial of five offences of engaging in a sex act with a child, nine offences of assault by penetration and one of rape.
Elen Owen, prosecuting, told the court that the defendant's actions had constituted several years of repeated abuse which caused "untold psychological harm" to his victim, beginning when she was a child and continuing into adulthood.

The victim attended court to read her impact statement in person.
She said: "My constant fear for the future is that [Clixby] has prevented me from ever building normal relationships with others.
"Having to give evidence didn't come easy. Having to relive it in front of everyone, how he ruined my life, breaks me every time.
"What [Clixby] did to me will live with me forever."
The victim said her education suffered as a result of the offending and she used gambling and alcohol "as an escape from reality."

In a limited address to the court Paul Smith, defending, asked Judge Rhys Rowlands to have regard for the principle of totality.
The Judge told Clixby: "It is plain from the pre-sentence report that you continue to deny your wrongdoing and have absolutely no insight at all into the harm you have caused.
"The victim plainly suffered severe psychological harm and is affected to this day."

Judge Rowlands handed down a total sentence of 19 years, two thirds of which must be served before Clixby can be considered for release on supervision.
He will register as a sex offender for life and has been barred from working with children or vulnerable adults on his release.
The Judge imposed an indefinite restraining order prohibiting Clixby from contacting the victim.
