A historical steam locomotive passed through Chester and Wrexham this weekend to the delight of trainspotters.
The LMS 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' was hauling the parts of The Christmas Cheshireman on a return trip on Saturday, November 19.
The locomotive travelled from Chester to Bristol, passing through Wrexham General, Gobowen, Shrewsbury, Craven Arms, Hereford, Abergavenny, Cwmbran, Severn Tunnel Junction and Chepstow.
The locomotive, which is officially named the LMS Princess Coronation Class 46233 Duchess of Sutherland, was built in 1938 for the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) at Crewe Works.

In 2001, she went through a restoration, bringing her back to operating condition and since then has been a regular performer on the national network.
In June 2002, the locomotive made history by being the first steam locomotive to haul the Royal Train for 35 years which also marked the 160th anniversary of the first Royal train in 1842.
The locomotive transported Queen Elizabeth II on a tour to North Wales, from Holyhead to Llandudno Junction, as part of her Golden Jubilee.
