A Flintshire live music venue has announced it will host a charity event in aid of Welsh Air Ambulance in memory of a beloved Buckley father.

'A Show for Ste' will be held on Saturday, January 28, in memory of Stephen Powell at the Tivoli in Buckley who describe him as their "dear friend".

The event will begin at 6pm and tickets can be purchased here for £10.

Stephen Powell sadly passed away unexpectedly on October 26 due to a fatal heart attack at the age of 58.

A funeral service will be held at St Matthews Church in Buckley on Wednesday, November, 23 at 1pm, followed by burial at Buckley Cemetery, and wake at the White Lion Buckley.

Stephen's daughter, Steph Powell, has arranged for a memorial bench to be erected in the cemetery and set up a gofundme page with any extra proceeds being donated to Welsh Air Ambulance for their heroic efforts with her father on the day of his passing.

Donations to the gofundme page can be made here

Writing on this page she said: "This has not only broken my own heart, but also the hearts of many others who had the pleasure to meet my dad, and who know how much of a kind, caring, lovable person he truly was.

"My dad was a man who put everyone in front of himself, he always thought for others, and always tried to help everyone in the best way he could.

"I have gained permission to have a bench erected in Buckley Cemetery near where my dad will be buried, somewhere for not only myself, but for anyone else who would like to visit and spend some time with him when needed, and also for his memory to live on in Buckley, as he was a legend after all."

The event at the Tivoli will be in honour of the life of Stephen Powell due to him being a huge rock fan, and also following numerous bands every week without fail.

The charity event will feature five local bands that were a favourite of Mr Powell including; Crazee Bone The Blueberry Hawks Insanity Beach B4time and Hawker Knoxy Boosh.

Any proceeds from the charity event will be donated to the Welsh Air Ambulance Service.

The Tivoli is also asking for donations towards raffle and auction prizes.
