MOLD is gearing up for the annual Christmas light switch-on event.

It will take place on Monday, November 28 and will include entertainment on the square from 3.30pm. There will be performances from school choirs, Mold Town Concert Band, Mountain Harmony Choir and Disney Princess Elsa.

Father Christmas will arrive at 6.25pm to turn the lights on at 6.30pm, after which he will be speaking to the children outside his grotto. 

There will be gift and food stalls on the square from midday and at 3.30pm.

Theatr Clwyd will be joining the festivities in the square to make Christmas decorations with the children. There will also be a fun fair on the High Street from 3.30pm - 8pm.

The Artisan Network will be holding a Frost Fair on Sunday, November 27 with festive gift and food stalls on the High Street and Daniel Owen Square from 11am to 4pm. The town council has invited Father Christmas along to this event and he will be in his Grotto on the square from 11am to 2pm to greet the town's children.

Flintshire Markets will hold a Christmas Market on Sunday, December 4 from 11am to 6pm with stalls throughout the High Street, on the Square and inside the Daniel Owen Centre. Father Christmas' Reindeers will be on the square from 2pm to 4pm and there will be entertainment throughout the day from concert bands and choirs.

There will also be special appearances from Mickey and Minnie Mouse, the Christmas Elves, The Grinch and Cindy Lou and you can have a photo taken in the Giant Snowglobe with Father Christmas.

Donations to meet Father Christmas are appreciated and all monies will go to the Mayor's Charity Appeal 'Save a Life, Make a Difference' which this year is supporting Mold Alex FC, Mold Community Hospital and North Wales Bowel Cancer.
