A CHIRK man has lost his licence after he was caught drug driving.
Macauley Edwards, of Princess Avenue in Chirk, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old admitted that on August 5, he drove a Mercedes C Class on Coronation Drive in Chirk when the proportion of Benzoylecgonine (a breakdown product of cocaine in the body) exceeded the limit.
He was found to have 118 microgrammes of the substance per litre of blood - the limit being 50.

Rhian Jackson, prosecuting, told the court that police were made aware of a white Mercedes vehicle being driven at speed around Chirk and it had been flagged as having no insurance.
Officers made their way to its location and parked so as to block it in.
Only Edwards was in the vehicle, and it was confirmed he had no insurance - for which he received a Traffic Offence Report at the scene.

The vehicle was seized and Edwards was tested for substances, which led to his arrest and eventual reading of 118 in blood.
In mitigation, the court heard the defendant "very much regrets" the offence and will be dependent on lifts from others to get to and from his job, laying foundations, following his inevitable driving ban.
District Judge Gwyn Jones handed down a fine of £500 and ordered Edwards to pay a £200 victim surcharge, as well as £85 costs.
The Judge banned him from driving for a year.
