MEMBERS of a Flintshire Women's Institute (WI) have created a fantastic display of poppies ahead of the period of Remembrance this weekend.

Respects will be paid to soldiers past and present during Remembrance Day events.

Remembrance Day is on November 11 as this is when WWI officially ended.

The Armistice was signed on November 11, 1918, and came into force at 11am.

That is why on Remembrance Day, people across the country take part in a two-minute moment of silence at 11am.

And members of Mold WI's knit and natter group have recently been busy creating the eye-catching display of poppies pictured above.
