An annual Christmas craft fair which began in order to raise money for a mental health charity is back this year in Garden village.
Elaine Hughes, who has organised the event, has been raising money in memory of her daughter Emma Lloyd, who died four years ago after years of struggle with her mental health at the age of 38.
The craft fair was set up initially to raise money for Mind, a charity that supports mental health, with Mrs Hughes selling her decoupage bottles, which are bottles decorated using a process where napkins are glued to bottles, making them look painted.
She learned how to create them shortly after her daughter’s death which has helped to support her.

The bottles have proven to be a success, with her raising over £5,000 for the charity since she began fundraising.
The bottles are also currently sold at The Beeches in Gresford, and over the last year has sold at least 130 bottles, raising around £1,300.
She said: “I don’t know how long the bottles will go (or for how long) people will want them. I’m quite happy to do them, I still enjoy doing them.”
This year, the craft fair will also be raising money for its venue, St Margaret’s Church in Garden Village. The roof is in need of repairs which have proven costly, so Mrs Hughes wants to split the money between the church and North East Wales Mind.
The craft fair will be held on November 26 at 2pm till 5pm and will see a stall featuring the popular bottles, as well as a cake stall, tombola, Christmas stalls, books and more.
