A HISTORIC Chirk venue is set to feature in an upcoming Netflix film.

D.H. Lawerence's classic novel Lady Chatterley's Lover was banned immediately when it was published in the 1920s due to its raunchy nature.

The novel revolves around a young woman who indulges in an affair with a gamekeeper because her paralysed husband cannot satisfy her sexual desires.

Now, it is set to be turned into a Netflix film starring Jack O'Connell and Emma Corrin.

And a recognisable North Wales venue will play a role in the film if the trailer is anything to go by.

Brynkinalt Estate, in Chirk, is a Grade II* listed building dating from 1612 and the site has been the home of the Trevor family since 942 AD.

The venue features in the Netflix trailer for 'Lady Chatterley's Lover'.

Clwyd South MP Simon Baynes recently had the opportunity to attend the premiere of the film.

He said: "Great to see Brynkinalt Hall, Chirk starring in the new film adaptation by Netflix of “Lady Chatterley’s Lover” which also stars Emma Corrin, Jack O’Connell and Joely Richardson.

"It was a pleasure recently to attend the European Premiere at the London Film Festival and celebrate the many benefits this film is bringing to our community in Chirk and Clwyd South."

The film itself will be available to watch on Netflix from Friday, December 2.
