PEOPLE are encouraged to ‘give love in a box this year’ as Teams4U begins its annual Christmas Shoebox appeal.

The Teams4U Shoebox Appeal 2022 will this year help struggling children and families of Ukraine, Romania, Moldova, Georgia, and Bosnia. People are encouraged to get involved and help this year and help children across the world.

A spokesman for Wrexham-based Teams4U said: “In the humanitarian world, this year has been filled with intensified conflicts, political unrests, economic instability, and crises. Natural disasters have ravaged Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and other countries, it has been riddled with loss, both in the UK and globally.

“As the festive season beckons and the importance of giving is emphasised. We want to encourage our community to not be caught up in being consumers and forget all those who would be forever grateful of our giving.

“People often say, ‘why send something to children abroad when there are so many children in need locally’?

“Our answer, need does not discriminate. Children abroad are in environments that often lack the infrastructure to access help in the festive period. In a period when there is heightened support and funding for people. In the United States, more than one third of annual donations (33.6%) happen in the “giving season” between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

“It shouldn’t be the child in Stockport, England, or the child in Suceava, Romania but both. It is a matter of representing British ethos both home and away.

"There are plenty of charities doing important work for vulnerable children in the UK and we support them, but similarly we recognise our expertise and experience in helping vulnerable children across the world.

"Teams4U encourages you to give to the struggling children and families of Ukraine, Romania, Moldova, Georgia, and Bosnia. "

To donate a shoebox, you wrap one in Christmas paper (with the lid separate to the rest of the box), fill it with gifts and/or practical supplies (with a guide on gifts on the T4U website), print off and fill in a donation slip then label the box, attach a cheque or some cash (or donate online), and then drop off at your nearest drop off point.

The labels can be ordered on the T4U website along with guides on how to create the perfect shoebox, and information on local drop-off points for each area.
