Two Wrexham restaurants have been awarded prestigious AA Rosette awards placing them in the top 10 per cent of restaurants in the UK.
The AA Rosette awards are a long-established scheme that celebrates cooking across the UK with successful establishments receiving either 1-5 Rosettes.
According to the AA website: "About 10% of restaurants nationwide are of a standard that is worthy of one Rosette and above."
Whilst Wrexham boasts numerous restaurants on the AA recommended list, two restaurants have been awarded a coveted Rosette Award.
The Hand at Llanarmon, which is set in the beautiful Ceiriog Valley, has maintained its impressive achievement of two Rosettes.
The Hand hotel and restaurant is based in the Wrexham village of Llanarmon and is run by husband and wife Jonathan and Jackie Greatorex.
Speaking of their successful inspection by AA Mrs Greatorex said: "We are extremely proud to retain our two rosettes and also to be a four-star AA quality inn."
The head chef, Grant Mulholland at The Hand, has built a strong reputation for superb cuisine, freshly prepared with informal flair and generosity.
The menu at the venue is constantly changing however "old favourites" such as freshly battered fish and chips or Welsh lamb rump are a firm staple.
The venue recently celebrated second chef Eifion Edwards who has worked in the kitchen for 30 years.
