PEOPLE in Flintshire are among the unhappiest in Wales, figures suggest.

This is according to an Office for National Statistics (ONS) annual population survey, which asked people about their general level of happiness.

People aged 16 and older were asked to rate each question out of 10, where zero is “not at all” and 10 is “completely”.

The average happiness of people surveyed in Flintshire was 7.27 out of 10, with only Cardiff, Newport and Rhondda Cynon Taf having lower rates of happiness.

Wrexham's average level of happiness was 7.47, and saw it rank 14th out of all Welsh local authorities.
