AN entire school in Wrexham got into the spirit of all things autumn before half term, with a harvest festival competition.
Tasked with 'turning a pumpkin into something spectacular', pupils and staff at Park CP School, Llay, got busy thinking up all manner of creative efforts.
Using pumpkins donated by the nearby Christmas Farm, displays took inspiration from children's books, local history, space and beyond.
Judging entries and picking winners from both the infants and juniors, were school governor and councillor Rob Walsh, and Gavin Davies from Llay Welfare FC.
Cllr Walsh said: "Judging the pumpkins, well all the children should be proud of the work they've done. All were fantastic. I'm so proud of the work the children and staff put in."
Headteacher Rebecca Billington said the school would be holding an evening walk through of all the entries on display, for parents, family and the community, with treats for children.
Cllr Walsh and Mr Davies were also at the school to collect a Guy, made by pupils, which will be used at the the football club's popular Bonfire Night.
Cllr Walsh added: "A big thank you to Llay Welfare and Park CP School. The Guy is a work of art, and it seems a shame to put it on the bonfire."
Returning for the first time in three years, it will take place at Llay Welfare on Friday, November 4, and will include rides and other attractions.
Doors open at 5.30pm, with the bonfire getting lit at 6.30pm.
