Wrexham city police have issued an update following a 'traumatic' RTC in the city centre yesterday. (October 30)

In his latest update, Inspector Luke Hughes discussed the incidents the force dealt with over the weekend.

He also looked ahead to Halloween, where he hoped for a 'sensible' evening and asked residents to use common sense and discretion if visiting houses.

Some of the incidents police dealt with included a 'traumatic' RTC as well as buses being 'pelted' with stones in an incident which left Inspector Hughes 'mortified'.

The main incidents police dealt with over the weekend were:

A road traffic collision in Wrexham at 11.48am on Sunday. Inspector Hughes said: "Officers attended a traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Central Road. The road was closed for over three hours as officers attempted to make the casualty comfortable pending the availability of an ambulance. Very traumatic for the driver, victim and officers who desperately wanted help for the casualty."

Two buses were allegedly attacked in Wrexham yesterday evening. Inspector Hughes added: "Officers were made aware of damage to a bus that had been travelling along Chester Road at around 18:28hrs last night. The bus was reported to have been pelted with stones and damage caused to the windows. I’m told that there were passengers on the bus and when a second bus was dispatched, this too was subjected to attack.

"To be honest, I was mortified reading this. This isn’t a location ever known to have issues such as this. NPT are looking at the possibility of a party nearby, but focus will be on CCTV. Anyone with any info please let me know quoting 22000797712."

Alleged chocolate thefts. Inspector Hughes said: "It looks like we have an emerging chocolate thief. It is reported that on five occasions, Mr Wonka has attended a location in the city centre and helped himself to significant quantity of chocolate. He either has a very sweet tooth or is selling them on - or both."

Lastly, police are appealing following the theft of an electric bike, stolen yesterday evening from Hope Street.

Police are asking anyone with information to quote 22000797773 when reporting it.
