A historic locomotive that was due to pass through Wrexham this morning (Friday, October 28) on a test run will no longer be going ahead.

The 61306 Mayflower was due for a test run after a fitment of airbrakes, but the plans for the run to be held today have changed due to a problem with an electrical system and she will not be departing from Crewe HS at the scheduled time of 9.30am to Coton Hill TC for servicing.

The B1 locomotive was due to pass through Crewe, Chester, and Shrewsbury, as well as Ruabon and Chirk.
