Wrexham Council say they will be ready to assist residents if faced with the prospect of blackouts this winter.
National Grid head John Pettigrew warned that the UK could potentially experience blackouts this winter as Europe’s energy crisis grip continues to tighten.
Speaking at the Financial Times Energy Transition summit, he noted that the National Grid may have to impose the blackout in January and February.
The blackouts are likely to occur on the coldest days between 4pm and 7pm.
Warm hubs have already been organised across Wrexham and Flintshire as the cost of living continues to create worries ahead of the winter period.

Earlier this month, Welsh Government announced a million pounds in funding for the hubs across Wales.
Now Wrexham Council has said they are hoping to be ready for anything this winter, to support residents.
A Wrexham Council spokesperson said: “We hold regular meetings to discuss all types of incidences and emergencies in order to be able to respond appropriately as and when they happen.
"Regarding any possible power outages, we will be ready to assist as soon as we are given notice of them. Our priority is to those in our communities who are the most vulnerable who need care.”
Flintshire Council had nothing to say on the matter.
