A MAN arrested after armed officers descended on Connah's Quay yesterday has been bailed, it has been confirmed.
The Leader reported on Wednesday afternoon how yections of York Road and Church Street were closed in what eye-witnesses said was a "huge" police presence near Esso garage.
A man was arrested and the roads were confirmed to have reopened just before 8.30pm.
Today, North Wales Police has issued an update on the incident.
A spokesman explained: "Shortly after 1.20pm yesterday (Wednesday, October 19) we received a report that a man was seen carrying a firearm on Golftyn Lane in Connah's Quay.

"Armed officers attended the scene, and a man was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.
"The weapon was seized, and the man was later bailed pending further enquiries.
"We understand the presence of armed officers will have been alarming, but this was an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the public."
