A Mold business is the latest to have expanded as it opens its doors to its new store in the Daniel Owen Precinct.

The Chainstore Outlet is one of 65 businesses that have opened or expanded in the town since 2020, as it reopens its doors in the former Argos unit just around the corner from their previous shop.

The Chainstore Outlet is owned by husband and wife, Jamie and Sue Huxley, who have been trading in Mold for the last seven years and say they have a loyal customer base, plus new customers each week and especially on market days in the town.

 Jamie explained: “As our stock range increased we realised we’d outgrown the current shop, so it was time to expand and when the opportunity came to take on the former Argos unit, we were delighted, as it meant a bigger store would allow us to increase our women’s range and also expand our men’s and children’s wear plus bring in more footwear and accessories.”

He added: “I would like to take the opportunity to thank all our customers over the last seven years for their support, it is their loyalty that has allowed us to take the next step opening the bigger store within the town.”

Mayor of Mold Councillor Haydn Jones was delighted to be invited along to officially open the store and was also the first official customer in the new shop.

Councillor Jones said: “It is lovely to see a local family business doing so well in the town.  The store is so much bigger than the previous store and lots more stock to choose from.  I was their first customer and very pleased with my purchase. I would like to wish Jamie and Sue and all the team the very best of luck and continued success in the town."

Sue Huxley said: “Mold is thriving at the moment, it’s great to see so many independent businesses doing so well in the town.  Staying in Mold was important to us, this is a family business and Mold will always be ‘home’.  We can’t wait to welcome everyone to the new shop, I think they may be surprised at just how much we have in store.”
