A FLINTSHIRE charity has been left 'angry' and 'very upset' after a golden-coloured bike - donated to it by the mother of a cancer victim - has been stolen.

Giddo's Gift was itself first set up to honour the memory of Jordan Giddins, from Flint, who lost his brave battle with Ewings Sarcoma on April 27, 2017.

These days, it provide gifts or financial grants to teenagers and young adults battling cancer, just as Jordan did.

To mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Flint-based charity has been placing golden bikes around the town to remember those who have died from childhood cancers.

However, one of these - placed on Chester's Suspension Bridge - has since been stolen.

That bike - which had sat on the bridge alongside tributes - had belonged to Matt Bannaghan, who passed away in 2019 after also battling Ewings Sarcoma.

A statement from Giddo's Gift following the suspected theft read: "I’m so angry but also very upset someone has stolen Mattys bike from The Suspension Bridge in Chester cut all the ties and taken it!

"This wasn’t a bike that was painted and named but actually Matty's Bike he rode this around Chester and now it’s been stolen!

"All we want to do is raise awareness of Childhood Cancer and pay tribute to the beautiful angels stolen from their families

"Why? Why? When we are heartbroken already that our beautiful children are missing out so much on life would someone think it is ok to steal something that is so sentimental"
