A FUNDRAISING evening of historical interest in Flintshire saw nearly £500 generated for a good cause.
Mayor of Mold Councillor Haydn Jones was among those who attended the evening at Rhosesmor Village Hall. It was organised by Netta Rowlands and presented by local historian Brian Bennett was a fundraising event in aid of Mold Hospital League of Friends - a charitable group in support of Mold Community Hospital.
During the evening £475 was raised, which was recently presented to the League of Friends at Mold Community Hospital.
Councillor Jones said: "During my Mayoral year I am aiming to raise awareness and much needed funds for the three charities that I am supporting this year; Mold Hospital League of Friends, Mold Alex Football Club and North Wales Bowel Cancer Support Group.
"When I received the invitation, I was delighted to go along to support the event. The turnout on the evening was exceptional and I would like to express my thanks to Netta and her team of helpers who gave up their free time to organise the event and of course a special thank you to my mate Brian Bennett for as usual, entertaining us with his array of photos and knowledge in his unique style of humour.”
He added: “I am thrilled with the amount raised on the evening, this will of course benefit our wonderful Cottage Hospital in Mold and the great work that the League of Friends do.”
