A MAN died following a road traffic collision in Wrexham on Saturday night (October 15), police have confirmed.
At 10.40pm, North Wales Police received reports of a collision involving a pedestrian on the A483 in an area known as Gresford Bank – between junctions 7 and 6 on the southbound carriageway.
Despite the best efforts of passers-by and emergency service staff, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed between junctions 7 and 6 until about 5am on Sunday.
Sergeant Jason Diamond of the Roads Policing Unit is urging any witnesses to come forward. He said: “Our thoughts are very much with the man who died and his family.
“We’d like to thank everyone who have already contacted us, but we are urging anybody who may have been travelling along the A483 around the time of the collision and who may have dash cam footage to contact us immediately.”
The man’s next of kin and the Coroner have been informed.
