A MAN who played a "significant role" in the supply of Class B drugs in Deeside has been given a suspended jail term.

Ryan Lloyd, of Green Lane, Shotton, appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on Thursday (October 13).

The 25-year-old admitted being in possession with intent to supply a Class B drug, as well as possession of a Class A drug.

The court heard that police conducted a search warrant at Lloyd's property on June 23, 2021.

Rhian Jackson, prosecuting, told the court officers discovered 25.48 grams of cannabis which had been placed in 13 small 'snap bags', as well as 1.91 grams of cocaine for "personal use". Also discovered in the search was £1,384.75 in cash.

The court heard evidence from Constable Neil Hughes, which stated that the cannabis found totalled a street value of £170, and the cocaine was worth an estimated £120-200.

As part of the search, scales were seized and analysis showed there were traces of cannabis and cocaine having been present on them. A phone which was also recovered revealed messages relating to the supply of drugs.

District Judge Gwyn Jones told the defendant: "It was clear that you were in charge of the operation and played a significant role in the supply of Class B drugs in the local area.

"The amount of money recovered shows that your dealing provided a significant yield from your investment.

He handed Lloyd down a 26-week jail term, but suspended it for two years. Lloyd must also wear an electronic tag, being subject to a curfew between the hours of 6pm and 6am.
