NORTH Wales Fire and Rescue Service has slammed the 'completely unacceptable' act of starting deliberate fires following multiple arsons in Wrexham.

Police say they are on the lookout for a 'suspicious male' following the incidents which took place in the Rhos area in the early hours of Monday morning (October 10).

Officers are also asking for any witnesses to come forward or any CCTV footage to be sent to them.

The Fire Service has now released further details from the fires and has issued a stark warning to anyone looking to deliberately start a fire.

The first fire, involving a small quantity of rubbish, took place at 2.38am on Beech Avenue.

The second, a car fire, took place at 2.56am on Hill Street and the third and final arson case took place at 3.31am on Market Street and involved a quantity of paper.

Jane Honey, community safety and arson reduction manager, said: “Deliberate fire setting is completely unacceptable –as well as the associated monetary cost, these fires put extra pressure on our resources and can put the lives of the fire crews and the public at risk.

"Whilst crews are busy dealing with these incidents they would not be able to meet what may be a real need for them to attend a life threatening situation elsewhere.
