A wellbeing event is taking place in Wrexham later this week to raise awareness of the support services available to those in the community. 

On Friday, October 14, Samaritans are running a roadshow wellbeing event in Wrexham to raise awareness of local support services available within the community and to remind the public whatever they’re facing, Samaritans volunteers are there to listen 24/7. 

The event will also mark World Mental Health Day which took place on Monday, October 10, with volunteers reminding the public of the importance of taking care of their own mental health and wellbeing, as well as looking out for others.

Samaritans will be at Queens Square, Wrexham from 10am to 3pm to talk to locals about their services and provide emotional support to anyone who may need it.

The volunteers will also be joined by representatives from Wrexham Council – Wellbeing and Housing Support teams, Wrexham and District Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Transport for Wales and the Unique Transgender Network.

Sean Ravenscroft, director of Chester Samaritans, said: “Our volunteers at Chester are really looking forward to being out and about in the Wrexham community, providing a listening ear.

"We know how challenging these last few years have been for people and so we want to be there to support people now more than ever. Many people struggle to cope at one point or another in their lives. So, it’s important to recognise that reaching out to someone will help them see that someone cares and that they are valued.
