Welsh Ambulance Service have reported that a person was airlifted to hospital following an accident on the A451 involving a car and a motorcycle.

Police were alerted of the crash at 12.43pm today, (Monday 10) involving a motorcycle and a car at Afonwen.

The crash casued the A451 to be partially blocked for some time from Babell turn off to The Cherry Pie Inn, resulting in slow traffic. 

A spokesperson at North Wales Police said: "We received a call at 12.43pm reporting an RTC involving a car and a motorcycle on the A541 at Afonwen, Mold.

"Officers attended alongside colleagues from Helimed, and the road was closed whilst the incident was dealt with."

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today (10 October) shortly before 1:00pm to reports of a road traffic collision, on Park View, Afonwen.

"We sent one emergency ambulance to the scene, where we were supported by the Wales Air Ambulance. One person was transported by air to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.”
