SEARCH and rescue team members helped track down two walkers who had become 'mislaid' in the Berwyn Mountains over the weekend.
North East Wales Search and Rescue (NEWSAR) say they were contacted by Dyfed-Powys Police to assist with the incident at 2pm on Sunday, October 9.
The Berwyn Mountains lie in the northeast of Wales. Roughly between Llangollen to the northeast, Corwen to the northwest, Bala to the west, Lake Vyrnwy to the south and Llanfyllin to the southeast.
NEWSAR say the phone signal made it difficult to pin point where the two walkers were during the incident.

But, they say local knowledge - coupled with their Team Leader's experience - helped them track the people down.
A NEWSAR statement read: "At 2pm today (Saunday, October 9), Heddlu Dyfed-Powys Police contacted the team to assist two walkers who were a bit mislaid in the Berwyn Mountains.
"Unfortunately the phone signal was a bit ropey (as it so often is in the Berwyn Mountains) so we couldn't use our usual "phone wizardry" to pin point where they were.
"But good old fashioned local knowledge came into play and our Team Leader worked out what they had done and was able to direct them back to the safety of the descent path. They then let us know they were down safely once they got phone signal again.
"Two small groups went out to the area in Team Landrovers in case the walkers hadn't been able to follow the instructions."
