NIGHTNGALE House Hospice is preparing to get their glitter and glam on next month as they host a ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ themed fundraiser in Liverpool.
The event will see representatives from local businesses across the region, who have no previous dance experience, pair with professional dancers to compete for the Nightingale Trophy which will take place at the Titanic Hotel, Liverpool on Saturday, November 26.
The couples will take to the dancefloor to perform in front of an audience of over 300 people to perform a routine they have been learning over the last two months.
Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a red-carpet entrance, a glass of fizz followed by a two-course meal. There will also be a raffle which will take place to help raise some additional funds for patient care.
Companies taking part include, DTCC, Cable Services, Inspire Rewire, Tyn Dwr Hall, Liberty Properties, Charles Owen, Vale of Llangollen Golf Club, Llangollen Group of Churches and Melody Corporations.
A similar event raised over £30,000 for the hospice back in 2019 and was a resounding success but now with a bigger venue to accommodate more guests, Nightingale is hoping to build on that success.
Nightingale House Hospice fundraiser, Sam Amis said: “We have been planning this event since 2020 but due to Covid, we have unfortunately been unable to go ahead, so this has been a long time coming!
“It will be a fantastic evening, enjoyed by all those taking to the dance floor and the audience who will be cheering them on.”
Nightingale House Hospice is always looking ways to keep its finances afloat during this difficult time. Most of its running costs are met through fundraising and other channels of income generation that include its on-site café and retail outlets that make a significant contribution towards maintaining services for those with life-limiting illnesses within palliative care.
Their services are completely free-of-charge, to patients and their families across Wrexham, Flintshire, East Denbighshire, Barmouth and the border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch with their services available to anyone in its catchment area living with a life limiting illness.
It costs £4,041,617 each year to run Nightingale House Hospice which is equivalent to £11,073 per day.
Tickets cost £60 and are available now to purchase. To buy tickets or for more information about the ‘Strictly Nightingale’ event please call the fundraising team on 01978 314292.
