MAJOR employers across Flintshire and Wrexham have confirmed their plans for the forthcoming bank holiday Monday in order to allow staff to pay their respects on the day of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.
Two thousand people including world leaders and foreign royals will gather inside Westminster Abbey in London on Monday for the final farewell to the nation’s longest reigning monarch.
King Charles III approved the day as a bank holiday as he was proclaimed King on Saturday - but guidance from the Government doesn’t guarantee everyone a day off, with employers given discretion to decide.
Some of our area's biggest employers have confirmed their arrangements for workers on the day.
An Airbus spokesman confirmed the company "will be observing the national day of mourning in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and to provide an opportunity for employees to pay their respects."

A spokesman for Kellogg's said: "Our factory will remain open, to avoid any empty supermarket shelves.
"Office based teams in Wrexham will be off for the bank holiday, and shift based teams keeping the factory in operation will be given extra time off to take at a later date.
"Those working over the bank holiday will receive additional pay and any requests to take the day off will always be accommodated where possible."
The government guidance on the Bank Holiday states: “This is a matter for discussion between individuals and their employer.
“There is no statutory entitlement to time off for bank holidays, but employers may include bank holidays as part of a worker’s leave entitlement.
“The government cannot interfere in existing contractual arrangements between employers and workers.
“However, we would expect that many workers will be able to take the day off on the bank holiday.
“We also expect employers to respond sensitively to requests from workers who wish to take the day of the funeral off work.”
