A NEW Deeside bakery received 'overwhelming support' during its opening weekend.
Blooming Baked is the brainchild of Daniel Horton, and wife Danni, who initially launched their own business from home in Connah's Quay during the first lockdown under the name 'Blooming Brownies'.
They started by making delicious brownies, which were delivered by post - before they started to hand deliver when restrictions eased.
Following the success of that, and having outgrown the space in their own home, Daniel and Danni decided to open their own shop up in Shotton.
Blooming Baked, now based on the high street, officially opened to the public over the weekend.

As well as its brilliant brownies, it now offers a range of sweet treats, including cookies, rocky roads, cakes and cupcakes.
A statement from Blooming Baked, posted to Facebook, read: "Wow what an opening two days we had!
"We really just wanted to thank everyone that came down to support us it was overwhelming.

"I would also like to thank the local town councillors that came to officially open the shop and Bernie for help to set the opening up!
"I should also mention all the staff that helped us massively with the opening as well.
"I hope everyone enjoyed their treats and milkshakes from us."
