A FACILITY at the heart of its community is launching a fundraising drive to keep it open, despite high energy bills and rising costs.

The popular café and community hall of Caffi Isa are home to choirs, several groups and classes, a book club, writing group and an improv troupe, and runs community, comedy and music events throughout the year.

Located at Mynydd Isa's Community and Arts Centre, Caffi Isa, in the heart of the village just outside Mold, and has gone from strength to strength since taking over the building in 2016.

Chair of the Community Interest Company, Sara Parker, said "It's so important we are here for our community, and we have some exciting events and projects already planned for the autumn but we are worried the hard financial winter ahead of us all might mean we have to close.

"So, we are reaching out to ask all our supporters to help us through."

The All Hands On Deck campaign aims to raise money and engage people in a wider range of community activities at the same time. Ideas include bingo, quizzes, singalongs and a raffle, but the team is open to suggestions and offers of help.

Sara added: "We need to keep this building full of life and provide a warm, friendly place for so many people in an otherwise difficult time.

"What we're asking for is support for our events and fundraising but just as importantly we want ideas and volunteers.

"For example, if you can offer bingo calling, or want to form a gardening team to tidy up the outside of the centre, help us with odd jobs or something completely different, please get in touch."
