WREXHAM AFC co-owner has offered words of support to a teenager living with a heart defect - and it's not the first or the last time that he will be speaking to him either.

Back in July, the Leader reported on Seb Hollingsworth, from Tyne and Wear, who had undergone major open-heart surgery.

The 13-year-old was born with a congenital heart defect which required him to also have “life-saving” surgery when he was 16-weeks-old, according to his father Ivan.

Following the op in July, Seb received a video message from Deadpool star Ryan which was played to him while he was in bed recovering.

At that time, dad Ivan revealed that not only did Ryan send his support to Seb, but he had also been messaging as well to keep in touch, as well as inviting the family to his football club in Wales, Wrexham AFC.

That was re-iterated in Ryan's latest Tweet to the teenager on Monday (September 5).

Ivan posted a picture of Seb returning to his Taekwondo sessions just eight weeks after his big op.

And that prompted this response from Ryan ...

He said: "I cannot wait for you to kick the ever-loving crap outta me, Seb. Keep going. You and dad are my guest for the next Wrexham AFC match I'm able to attend. Proud of you, bubba."

Ryan and club co-owner Rob McElhenney were last at the Racecourse on August 20 as Wrexham beat Maidstone United 5-0.

That was ahead of the Welcome to Wrexham documentary being released on Disney Plus.

The gripping documentary series is currently being released two episodes at a time every Thursday in the UK.
