A NEW free parenting support service is coming to Flintshire this month.
Advance Brighter Futures (ABF) have been supporting parents across Wrexham and Flintshire for over nine years through their PRAMS (Parental Resilience And Mutual Support) project which is available for mothers, fathers and guardians who need additional support through the challenges of early parenthood.
ABF’s upcoming ‘A Parent’s Guide to…’ will be free weekly drop-in sessions with ‘A Parents’ Guide to Managing Stress and Anxiety’ starting on Wednesday, September 14, and ‘A Parents’ Guide to Living Life to the Full’ beginning on Thursday, September 15.

Meanwhile, A Parent’s Guide to…Living Life to the Full’ will also be free weekly drop-in sessions designed to help tackle everyday problems that every parent faces from time to time. The informal sessions will teach parents the skills and give tools to help parents feel better, happier, and more in control of their life.
All sessions will be held over zoom lasting from 10am - 11.30am.
The courses are open to all parents with children under the age of 18 and anyone interested is urged to register for ‘A Parent’s Guide to…’ by filling out the registration form here.
ABF currently run three free support groups - You and Your Bump - which is for expectant parents, You and Your Baby - for parents with a ‘pre-walking’ baby from 0 months, and You and Your Toddler - for parents with a child from walking stage up to the age of 4.
The groups help parents challenge negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours and making lasting, positive changes in their lives, whilst offering the opportunity to meet other like-minded parents.
Zoe Whitehead, Business Development Officer at ABF, said: “We’re really excited to be able to offer extra support for parents and families in Flintshire. Our PRAMS project has already been well received by parents in Flintshire, so we’re looking forward to launching our ‘A Parent’s Guide to…’ courses and drop-in sessions to expand on the support for Flintshire families.”
