THE HOLYWELL Market Group has crowned the winner of their competition to highlight young people making a positive impact in the community.
Keeley Humphreys from Trelogan was presented with the prize of £50 by Deputy Mayor, Councillor Lynda Carter and Central Ward Councillor, Daniel Thomas after being nominated by members of the community for the fantastic work she has undertaken.
The 13-year-old has been involved in organising tea afternoons, fetes and other events for the community as she is concerned about loneliness in older people.

When asked what other youngsters could do to help make a difference, Keeley said: “So many young people are glued to their phones. Get outside and meet some real friends. Social media is not the real world. When you get your friends involved, you can make a difference in the community.”
The Holywell Market Group was seeking nominations of young people between the age of 11-17 who helped others and help make where they live a better place.
Holywell Market Group member, Karin Schroeder said: "It was a group idea that arose due to negative publicity concerning anti-social behaviour in Holywell and Greenfield.
"We know that the majority of young people are lovely kids. We wanted to highlight those who contribute towards building a stronger community and many youngsters were nominated, all of them great young people."
