FIREFIGHTERS were called out to Acrefair to tackle a deliberate vehicle blaze, it has been confirmed.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 11.44pm on Wednesday, reporting a van ablaze in Whalley's Way, Plas Madoc.

One crew attended the scene and used a hose reel jet, one set of breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera and small tools to extinguish the flames.

A spokesman for the fire service confirmed the cause was deliberate ignition.

The incident was declared over just over half an hour after it was reported.
