FLINT'S Coastguard volunteers leapt to the rescue of a group of 100 people who were in danger of being cut off by the tide on a north Wales beach.
The team dealt with the incident in question while travelling back from the Rhyl Air Show on Sunday (August 28) - which itself endured some issues after a bird flew into one of the Red Arrows' aircraft.
They received a call from the UK Coastguard at 6.17pm which involved reports of a large group of people in danger of becoming cut off by the incoming tide at Barkby Beach, Prestatyn.

A statement from Flint Coastguard read: "Arriving on scene, a large group of 100+ persons were observed to be on a sandbank and in the process of being cut off.
"Unaware of their predicament, members of the team managed to clear all of them to a place of safety and back up the beach. Safety advice then offered.
"Holyhead MRCC were happy and the team were stood down."
