WREXHAM AFC's co-owners provided some brilliant live commentary as the documentary detailing their takeover of the club aired for the first time overseas.

The long-awaited 'Welcome to Wrexham' premiered via Hulu last night (Wednesday, August 24) in North America and received plenty of attention and rave reviews on social media.

UK residents can see what all the fuss is about as the series - which is being released two episodes at a time every Thursday until October - drops on Disney+ today.

And if you don't want any spoilers, then look away now, as we're taking a quick look at club owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's live Tweets from the opening night.

The Deadpool and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia stars officially took control of the club in early 2021.

Since then, they have immersed themselves into the club and the community and have become well and truly synonmyous with all things Wrexham.

Earlier this morning, 3am UK time, the pair were live Tweeting as the documentary detailing their takeover journey to date aired for the very first time.

And, of course, it resulted in some hilarious viewing for their millions of followers.

Here are some of the best bits from the series of Tweets ...

The live Tweeting began with Ryan issuing a five minute 'warning' to eager followers before the launch.

Then, in stepped Ryan to swiflty correct an editor-in-chief who had labelled Wrexham an 'English soccer team' via one of his Tweets.

Rob was up next with what was quite possibly the Tweet of the night as he described his and Ryan's unexpected but blossoming friendship which as developed through their love for the club.

To which Ryan replied with a tribute to Rob's mustache, which is sadly no longer with him (or us!)

And it seems being a Wrexham goalkeeper comes with it's profanity ...

Next up was some fantastic advertisement for a local business (as well as some light-hearted banter).

The Turf pub lies in the shadow of the Racecourse ground and has become synonymous with Wrexham AFA down the years.

It has been run by Wayne Jones for the last 14 years.

Die-hard Reds fan Wayne is one of a number of locals appearing in 'Welcome to Wrexham'. He previously told the Leader that he was 'expecting some harmless stick' following his TV appearance - but he perhaps didn't expect it to come from Rob!

Rob also provided a statement which really proves that he really is just one of us after all these years of waiting for a return to the English Football League ...

Entertaining as always from the Hollywood star duo who have become a real part of Wrexham's identity over the last year-and-a-half.

And 'Welcome to Wrexham' will no doubt further rubber-stamp their icon status in the local area.
