RESIDENTS across Wrexham have been asked to remain vigilant following "several" instances of fake banknotes being presented in shops.
The message came from Wrexham Rural PCSO Dean Sawyer on Tuesday afternoon.
He explained: "Recently there have been several instances in Wrexham of fake Scottish fifty-pound notes being presented at shops.
"Please be wary when dealing with such notes if you undertake any cash transactions.
"New Scottish notes, like Bank of England notes, are polymer - although paper notes are still legal tender if genuine."
