POLICE arrested two men on suspicion of cooking oil thefts in Wrexham.
North Wales Police's Roads Unit said officers received information on Monday night that a van was in the North Wales area and had links to theft of cooking oil.
The vehicle was sighted on the A483 in Wrexham by one of the Roads Policing Unit officers.
The vehicle was stopped and on board police said they found "multiple" barrels and containers filled with cooking oil. Both men were subsequently arrested in connection with theft, and going equipped for theft.

A Roads Policing Unit spokesperson said: "Albeit what you may think is a minor offence, cooking oil thefts are on the up, we encourage any businesses to contact us if you see anything suspicious or are approached by someone who is not your regular waste disposal for these sort of items. Call 101 or report it via web chat."
Used cooking oil is stolen to be converted into unregulated biodiesel and sold on the black market.
