Plans are already being put in place for next year's Llangollen Faery Festival after it returned in fashion earlier this month.

The popular event made a 'magical' return following a two-year absence due to the covid-19 pandemic.

It took place on the weekend of August 13 and 14, with crowds flocking to participate.

Organisers estimate that between 8,000 and 10,000 attended over the two days, which was close to the 12,000 they got back in 2019.

There was live music and entertainment, as well as plenty of activities including a wand-making station.

Fiona Maher – known locally as ‘Tink’, has been the main organiser of the Faery Festival in Llangollen, since it started.

She said: "Once again, the fairies flocked to Llangollen to participate in The Legendary Faery Festival. The weekend saw this magical event return after a two-year break due to the pandemic. Thousands poured through the gates of Llangollen Pavilion, all eager to enjoy the fairy-fun on offer.

"Beautiful wings and wands glittered in the bright sunlight, music flowed from The Dragon Stage and kept the crowds entertained.

"Sunday dawned equally bright and hot, but this did not seem to deter the brave fairies who were determined to enjoy themselves no matter what. At the close of the weekend, all were sad to leave and vowed to return to the next Legendary Faery Festival on the 12th and 13th of August 2023.

"The universal reaction was an outpouring of love and deep gratitude that the festival had returned."
