A CRASH has led to a Flintshire road being 'closed for the rest of the evening' (Friday, August 19).

The incident took place at around 4.30pm on the crossroads at Cadole Road, Hafod Road and Pant y Buarth, Gwernaffield.

As a result, that road is closed from the Hand Inn down to the quarry entrance.

Posting on the 'Gwernymyydd and District Community' Facebook page, Flintshire County Councillor for Gwernaffield & Gwernymynydd ward, David Coggins Cogan said: “The crossroads at Cadole Rd, Hafod Rd, and Pant y Buarth will be closed for the rest of the evening.”

“Access for local residents will be allowed (if you live within the road closure), but there is absolutely no access to the junction itself.”

“The police will be investigating the collision.

"As I type this, I can see that the air ambulance still hasnn't left the area, so I sincerely hope everyone involved in this collision survives."

Eyewitnesses from the scene have reported seeing a crash involving a motorbike and a car.

A Wales Air Ambulance was spotted landing close to the road and police officers have also been spotted at the scene.

North Wales Police and The Welsh Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
