ARMED Police swooped in on Wrexham this morning (Friday, August 19) following reports of a man carrying a 'firearm'.
The incident took place in the Pentre Gwyn area of Hightown at 10,40am.
But all was not as it first seemed, as the firearm turned out to be a paintball gun, police have confirmed.

A statement from North Wales Police read: "At 10.40am today (19 August) we received reports of a male carrying what was believed to be a firearm in the Pentre Gwyn area of Hightown, Wrexham.
"Officers and armed response units attended the location where it was established that the firearm in the male's possession was a paintball gun.
"Two males were detained by attending officers at the rear of a nearby property and enquiries remain ongoing."
