A FLINTSHIRE mum is to be sentenced for her part in a "mass brawl" following a wedding.

Amy Gill, of Bro Alun in Mold, appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The 30-year-old admitted that on May 8 at Flint Mountain, she used abusive or threatening words or behaviour towards another.

Gary Harvey, defending, described the scene to the court.

He said that on the day in question, Gill had gone to her father's wedding - but an "atmosphere" had developed after comments were made about her son.

Shortly after midnight, police were called to a "mass brawl" in the car park of the Flint Mountain Hotel, Mr Harvey said.

The defendant's sister had gotten "embroiled" in an argument - leading Gill to step in.

Mr Harvey said his client could be seen on CCTV "apparently hitting two people with a shoe."

"It got out of hand," he said.

"Fortunately it doesn't seem to be the heel of the shoe."

Mr Harvey said the defendant was "assaulted quite badly" herself, but she was she only person charged in connection with the incident.

He said his client's behaviour was a "one-off" as she doesn't usually drink - adding her life as a single parent is focussed on supporting her young son, but she hopes to go into admin work in a school setting in the near future.

The magistrates stood the matter down in order for a pre-sentence report to be prepared ahead of Gill's next appearance.

She will be back in court on September 14 to be sentenced.
