A COUPLE'S 'unbelievable generosity' has helped the amount raised by a beer and cider festival pass the £20,000 mark.
Earlier this week, the Leader reported on the first-ever Deeside Round Table Beer and Cider Festival having raised over £18,000.
The event took place at the Gladstone Centre in Hawarden on Friday (August 12) and Saturday (August 13).
However, since then, the total raised has passed the £20,000 mark thanks to a generous donation.

A statement from Deeside Round Table explained: "Our two avid arborist Tablers Gaz and myself, Wezz, from Groundswise were busy working for these two lovely customers, Martin and Lucilla Spillane.
"We got chatting and loved hearing about the history of their house and Lucilla's published books of poetry that draw on her wide range of experiences in several countries. In turn, we were excited to tell them of our team's amazing efforts this weekend raising money for the Deeside Round Table charity through our beer festival. A colossal total of £18,401!
Well, on hearing this they offered to round up our grand total to £20,000. Unbelievable generosity!
"We couldn't thank them enough, we were absolutely thrilled and blown away
It is thoughtfulness like this that bolsters our cause, and we can't do what we do without all this ongoing love and support. From ticket sales for our events, local businesses assistance to incredible donations like this one. All of us are flabbergasted.
"In a world that sometimes seems damaged beyond repair, with spiralling economic hardship imminent, we know, now more than ever, how important our charity pot is in the current climate.
"It's moments like this, a beautifully benevolent gesture from Martin and Lucilla, that helps make a massive difference to those within our reach What a truly special couple."
