THE WELSH Government has confirmed the taxpayer wasn't financially liable for the A483 resurfacing defects.
In late 2021, contractors botched resurfacing work on the A483 between Junction 6 Gresford and 7 Rossett.
Motoristsomplained that the northbound stretch of the road was uneven - making it uncomfortable to drive on.
As a result, the Welsh Government carried out an inspection which found defects that would have to be resurfaced again in 2022.

After the work was re-done in June, the Welsh Government has confirmed that it was the contractor that had to foot the bill.
Reacting to the news, Wrexham MP Sarah Atherton said: "I am delighted that the Welsh Government has confirmed that it was the contractors, not the taxpayers who were liable for the recent resurfacing of the A483."
The roadworks caused significant disruption, creating "chaos" in the Gresford area as A483 traffic was diverted through the village.
