ASDA and Morrisons’ Wrexham stores played against each other in a charity football match raising money for a local boy.
Colleagues from ASDA, Johnathon Owen, Tracey Hayes, and Sandra jones organised the event in aid of Archie Crute.
Archie has Menkes Disease which impacts the way the body processes copper levels in the body. It affects the nervous system and connective tissue which causes symptoms such as sparse kinky hair, slow growth, and seizures.

Sadly, babies with Menkes disease usually live between two and three years and it affects average just one in 300,000 babies a year.
Archies’ mum, Becky Davies, works at Morrisons and dad, Dan Crute works at ASDA.
The match took place on Sunday, August 14 at Brickfield Rangers Ground at Homestead Lane, Wrexham.
Brickfield allowed the use of their pitch as well as the clubhouse and Bar and led entertainment for the children, including bouncy castles, and any funds raised were donated.
Amigo Electrical Contractors sponsored the game shirts, which were supplied by Macron, who also supplied the game ball.

Members of White Watch Wrexham Fire Brigade also attended to support the event and had their pictures taken with Archie and his Mum and Dad. Wrexham AFC also supplied a signed Football shirt.
Morrisons came out on top at the end of the match, but the main winner was Archie. The winner’s trophy was donated by Asda Customer Trading Manager Dieter Anderson.
Special thanks have been given to all the people that turned out to support the event.
