A WEATHER warning remains in place across North Wales and Chester today.

The Met Office warned the public to expect thunderstorms across the region from yesterday morning onwards - with a yellow warning in place until midnight tonight.

Although the weather was not as severe as some expected across North Wales and Chester areas, the Met Office has advised people to be prepared for potential disruption for a second day.

A spokesman said: "While some places stay dry, others are likely to see thunderstorms with torrential rain bringing some disruption."

Here's what the Met Office has said to expect today:

  • Flooding of homes and businesses could happen quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds

 

  • Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life

 

  • Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services

 

  • Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures

 

  • Some communities might become cut off if roads flood

 

  • Power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
