MORRISONS has apologised after children's toys were mistakenly placed next to a vape display at its Wrexham store.

The e-cigarettes had been placed on display at the end of an aisle that contained children's toys - sparking outrage from a customer.

Sarah Hoare, a mum of two young children, was shopping when her eight-year-old son noticed the display and questioned her as to what the product was.

She said she: "I was surprised to see a vape display being installed, but more shocking was the position of this display, at the end of the children's toy aisle. I couldn't believe my eyes.

"I find it ironic that the confectionery display has been moved to accommodate this display of vape products, it seems to target children using this premium space."

Vapes are electronic cigarettes that simulates tobacco smoking by the user inhaling and exhaling vapour containing nicotine and flavouring.

Morrisons has since apologised to customers, saying that the toys had been placed there by mistake.

A spokesperson for the company said: "Toys were put onto these shelves by mistake and were then quickly removed. We apologise to our customers for this error."
