A WOMAN who smashed a kettle over a fellow hotel guest's head 10 times has admitted assault and will face sentencing in the crown court.
Claire Brindley, from Wrexham, appeared at Telford Magistrates Court on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm (ABH) against Kathryn Law after being invited into her room to charge her phone at the Lion Quays Resort in Weston Rhyn on August 29 last year.
The court was told that at around 1am, the victim headed to bed after attending a wedding at the hotel, but then heard a loud banging in the hallway and on her door.
She opened to find Brindley – then known as Claire Morris – in distress that she could not find her sister and that her phone was out of battery.
Sara Beddows, prosecuting, explained how Brindley, 37, was then invited into the victim's room to get a drink and charge her phone, before she turned violent.

She added: "Ms Law let her into her room to have a glass of water and charge her phone and they had a five-minute conversation.
"But out of nowhere the defendant accused Ms Law of stealing her phone and became agitated and aggressive, and then attacked her with an open and clenched fist.
"Ms Law tried to get her out of the room many times but then Brindley hit her over the head with the kettle 10 times and Ms Law called it 'frenzied'.
"She screamed at her to stop; the defendant left and a member of staff came to Ms Law's assistance and then an ambulance was called.
"She had a large head wound of one-inch wide, an impact injury to her left eye with swelling and black and other head injuries."
The court also heard that the defendant was "deeply sorry" for the offence, which she said she did not remember as she had drunk a lot of alcohol because she was under a lot of stress.
Magistrates were also told that since the offence, Brindley, of Gwenfro, Wrexham, had been married and given birth.
A pre-sentence report was ordered by magistrates ahead of a date at Shrewsbury Crown Court, to be confirmed, and Brindley was given unconditional bail.
However, she was warned that she would have to appear in person at crown court after a video appearance before magistrates.
